The Deal to Reopen the Government
Last night the Senate reached a bipartisan deal to reopen the government, restore federal jobs, and keep food assistance flowing. It is not perfect, but it helps people. I support it.
Every other candidate in this race opposed the deal. They were willing to let families go hungry, to leave federal workers and business travelers in limbo, and to keep the shutdown going just to prove a point. That is the fight-at-all-costs mindset that has broken Washington.
I am not part of that crowd, and that is exactly why I can win. While they fight over the same angry slice of the electorate, I am building a coalition of people who want a government that works again — people who still believe our best days are ahead.
I learned a long time ago in business that you do not fix problems by digging trenches. You sit down, talk it through, and keep things moving. I have spent my career building a company and helping small businesses find solutions, not excuses. That same approach works in government too.
Bridges, not bunkers. Let the process work. Keep food programs running, paychecks coming, and the country moving forward.
If you want leaders who solve problems instead of stoking them, I ask for your support with a financial contribution.
