Dispatch from the Trail

A Fragile Peace — and a Moment for Hope.

Today marks a historic step toward ending the devastating war that has taken so many innocent lives — Israeli and Palestinian alike.

The release of hostages and the promise of peace are blessings the world has prayed for since October 7th. But behind every headline are real people whose lives have been shattered.

Twin brothers Ziv and Gali Berman were kidnapped from their home in Kibbutz Kfar-Aza during the October 7 terror attack. They were just 26. Their mother, Liran, still waits for them — and for answers. Stories like theirs remind us that every hostage, every life lost, every family broken is a tragedy that must never be forgotten.

As someone deeply connected to the Jewish community, I know how hard it is to trust Hamas. But we must give peace a chance. True and lasting peace can only endure when Hamas ends its war to terrorize Israel — and when Palestinians have leaders who choose to build a safe and prosperous future shared with their Israeli neighbors.

I’ve traveled across the Middle East and met people working to build on the foundation of the Abraham Accords. I’ve seen firsthand that when peace-loving people act with courage and resolve, even the darkest conflicts can give way to light.

Moments like this remind me that leadership — real leadership — is about service. It’s about rolling up our sleeves, doing the unglamorous work, and building something better together. That’s what I want this campaign to be about — people from every corner of the 9th District coming together to solve problems and restore trust in each other.

If that’s the kind of campaign you want to be part of, I hope you’ll join us. If you or someone you know is interested in a paid or volunteer position with our campaign, please sign up below.
