Dispatch from the trail
Some people tune it out. I can’t.
Someone asked me the other day why I’m running for Congress. He told me he’d just bought a house in a gated community in Florida and couldn’t figure out why I’d spend my days at food banks, town halls, and late-night fundraising calls instead of sitting by the beach.
Here’s why: I’m wired to fix things. When I see problems, I want to roll up my sleeves—not walk away. I don’t know how to fade quietly into the background while everything around me breaks.

This week I visited two food banks and dropped off donations. The people running them were calm and steady, but you could see the worry behind their smiles. They know what’s coming if Washington keeps playing games—they’re bracing for it.
I could be gating myself from all the turmoil, somewhere warm, tuning it all out. But that’s not who I am—and I know it’s not who you are either. You care about this country too. I’m out here doing the legwork, but it only matters if people like you are with me.
Phil, if that feels right to you, I’d be grateful for your help. Your donation—whatever amount—keeps me in the fight, standing up for the people who’d rather fix things than hide from them. Please click here to donate.
Thanks for your consideration,
